Lisa here! Owner of LPM Fitness

I have been active my whole life by doing every activity under the sun - from tennis to horseback riding, snowboarding to cross-country running. You name it, I’ve probably tried it. Throughout college you would find me gathering as many friends as I could to take a class at the gym because I didn’t want to go alone. Upon graduating college I landed a cubicle job at The University of Pittsburgh, learning quickly I did not like sitting at a desk all day. Not to mention those college friends had since moved away so I had to accept going to the gym alone. I joined the local YMCA and the only class I could attend after work was an indoor cycle class. Every time I took the class I thought “this instructor doesn’t pair the class to the music very well - hell I could do this better than him.” And my next thought was “oh and then I’d always have people to take classes with.”

Within a year I was teaching 7 cycle classes per week, gained certifications with Les Mills and was teaching an additional 5-6 group fitness classes every week both before and after work. I was having FUN and making a positive impact on others. I went back to school earning a Masters in Exercise Science and ACSM Exercise Physiologist certification in 2019. I have since been working as a personal trainer while maintaining a role in the corporate world as a Logistics Account Manager. These experiences have given me the confidence and skill sets to open LPM Fitness. What motivates me the most are the people I meet - those who face hardships but show up for themselves and others while also finding a way to smile through any challenge.

My approach is simple: find ways to lead a healthy lifestyle but make sure to find joy along the way. I strive to build a community at LPM that respects these values. Health and fitness should never be a burden that you have to do each day, but rather something that you get to do each day. Book a consultation now and I will be your biggest cheerleader as we develop a sustainable health/wellness plan catered to your specific goals.

Hi, I’m Yasmeen, busy Mama of two very active girls.

My fitness journey began as a teenager when I joined a women-exclusive gym with my older sister. Like many teen girls,I believed I was overweight, out-of-shape and wanted to be 90s model skinny.  In college and grad school, I was in a relentless pursuit of the lean aesthetic. I pushed my body through ups and downs with an unhealthy body image, often cycling through extreme diet and exercise routines. My metabolism, body and mind were on a rough rollercoaster ride. To boot, as a newly-minted mental health therapist, I knew that this was not sustainable; change was inevitable.

Soon after the post-partum phase of my first-born, I focused on a mindset change, shifted gears and put my wheels in motion to be a better role model for my daughter and young  mentees. I committed to using my background in mental health therapy combined with my passion for fitness to pursue the gold standard in personal training education at The National Personal Training Institute. In addition to earning my diploma, I went on to earn my NASM certification. After 10 years in the fitness industry, I am continuously learning more from my own life experiences and from my diverse clientele.

Without end, I understand the need to find the balance between the demands of everyday life and self care. Let us begin your journey by rebooting your mental fitness. Hit the “consultation” button below!
